I have enjoyed being your principal at Guilford Elementary for the last 3 years and I am eager to start my 4th year here. Prior to joining Guilford, I was a principal for 6 years at Bollman Bridge Elementary and 5 years at Swansfield Elementary. In addition to my time as principal, I served as an Assistant Principal at Phelps Luck Elementary and Pointers Run Elementary. Prior to becoming an administrator, I taught 3rd and 5th grades at Bollman Bridge, Manor Woods, and Phelps Luck. On a personal note, my wife, Lisa is a HCPSS 5th grade teacher and we have two active boys. Our oldest is entering high school and our youngest will be a 5th grader this year. We live in Ellicott City and most of our free time is spent at either soccer or swim practice.

I am very excited to be joining the Guilford ES community this school year and I can't wait to get to know you all! I am a product of Howard County schools, having attended Phelps Luck ES, Ellicott City MS (now called Ellicott Mills MS), and Howard HS. I have 2 degrees from Towson University - the first was in Art with a focus on graphic design and photography and the second degree was in elementary education. I taught 1st grade at Clemens Crossing ES for 3 years and completed my Masters degree in Administration & Supervision during that time. I then moved to Ilchester ES for 7 years where I taught 2nd grade, Media and then 5th grade before being promoted to Assistant Principal. I have been an Assistant Principal at West Friendship ES, Stevens Forest ES and Pointers Run ES before coming to Guilford ES. I am also the president of a non-profit organization called The Colon Club, which supports those who were diagnosed with colorectal cancer under the typical age of 50 and educates others about colorectal cancer. When I am not working hard, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our 3 children. My biggest passion is giving back and I spend a lot of time doing advocacy work for colorectal cancer and helping survivors, caregivers, and their families. My husband and I truly enjoy what volunteering does to help others.
