Greetings Guilford! I am extremely excited to be joining the HCPSS family. Although this is my first year working in Howard County, it is the beginning of my 24th year in education. My previous 23 years were spent working in the Prince George's County Public School System. During that time, I worked as a classroom teacher for 7 1/2 years, 1/2 year as an Assistant Principal, and 15 years as Principal of Bond Mill Elementary in Laurel. I completed my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from American University in Washington, DC, and received my graduate degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Administration from McDaniel College. In addition to my principal responsibilities, I am a University Supervisor with McDaniel College, in which I supervise graduate level interns who are pursuing a career in Education Administration. Outside of work, my daughter will be starting her freshman year at Towson High School. If someone is ever looking for us, we can most likely be found rooting for the Baltimore Orioles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Tampa Bay Lightning. I look forward to working with every student, staff member, and parent at Guilford. Every success we achieve, I promise you we will achieve TOGETHER!!!

I am a product of Howard County schools, having attended Phelps Luck ES, Ellicott City MS (now called Ellicott Mills MS), and Howard HS. I have 2 degrees from Towson University - the first was in Art with a focus on graphic design and photography and the second degree was in elementary education. I taught 1st grade at Clemens Crossing ES for 3 years and completed my Masters degree in Administration & Supervision during that time. I then moved to Ilchester ES for 7 years, where I taught 2nd grade, Media and then 5th grade teacher and team leader before being promoted to Assistant Principal. When I am not working hard, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our 3 children. My biggest passion is giving back and I spend a lot of time doing advocacy work for colorectal cancer and helping survivors, caregivers, and their families. My husband and I truly enjoy what volunteering does to help others.
