ATTENTION:
PARENT / TEACHER CONFERENCES
FEBRUARY 15TH AND 16TH
Our school will be using a web-based application called pickAtime to schedule parent/teacher conferences. Parents will meet with their childís Math teacher for February conferences. Parents with internet access will be able schedule their parent/teacher conferences, print their schedule, and have an email reminder of the appointments sent to them.    To access this program, please click on the pickAtime scheduling link on the HCPSS web site www.hcpss.org.  This program is easy to use and can be accessed at your convenience beginning Monday, January 30th at 5:00 pm. You will be able to access this program to schedule or cancel your appointments until Sunday, February 12th at 11:59 pm.  After this date, please cancel or reschedule your appointments by calling 410-880-5930. In order to access this program, you will need your childís student ID number.  This ID number will be labeled at the top of your childís report card being sent home on January 30th. Unfortunately, a student ID number cannot be given over the telephone. Parents who set up their parent account for the November conferences can sign-on using the same user ID (e-mail account) and password.

Parents/Guardians who are unable to access this program at home or work, are invited to come to Guilford on February 7th, 8th, or 9th from 4:30 ñ 5:30 p.m. to access the Internet to schedule their conference appointments. Mrs. Stahler and Mrs. Woodson will be on hand to assist if needed.  If you are unable to attend one of the times offered for Internet access, please call the school at 410-880-5930 to schedule your conference beginning Tuesday, January 31st.

Directions on how to use this program can be found on the HCPSS web site by downloading the file “Parent Directions for Using pickAtime.”

We are asking that you bring your child with you to the conference.  Your child has a time in the conference to share with you how he/she has attained or is working toward a goal in the classroom.  We have seen the work all the students have been doing to get ready for sharing the information with you.  We cannot wait to see them shine!

DRESSING FOR THE WEATHER REMINDER
Winter is upon us.  We hope everyone is staying warm on these cold, windy evenings.  While we hope you are staying warm at home, we just want to remind you to make sure that you are sending your child(ren) to school appropriately dressed for outside recess.  The county policy states that children are to be permitted to have recess as long as it is above 20 degrees.  We do take into consideration wind chill and other factors.  It is important that the students have the chance to get up and get moving to keep their minds moving and ready to learn.  Please help us with this effort by encouraging warm clothing, hats, and gloves.
