Guilford Family and Friends,
We did it! We all made it through our first full year back to in person learning! The work you did with your children this year is very much appreciated. You helped them when they had to wear a mask all day long, sit at assigned seats in the cafeteria, deal with quarantines, and even having to eat outside. Your emotional support went a long way to ensure their success this year. Your trust in our staff to keep your children safe is also something we will never forget. Thank you for all of your support.
This time of year is always hard for staff and students as we find ourselves saying goodbye to those staff who are retiring. Please join us in celebrating the lifelong work of Carol Wotler (PE Teacher) and Krista Shaul (2nd Gr Teacher). These amazing teachers have been two of the longest working teachers here at Guilford. They will always remain near and dear to all of our hearts and we will miss them terribly!

HCPSS School Messages
All parents/guardians are in our system to receive HCPSS and school emails/text messages. HCPSS systems will update in early August, at which point parents will automatically receive communication from your child’s 2022-2023 school. Prior to that rollover, you will continue to receive communication from your child’s 2021-2022 school. Please do not attempt to create a new account with your child’s 2022-2023 school. Additionally, unsubscribing from any HCPSS or school messages will block you from receiving all messages from the district and your child’s school. Please do not unsubscribe.
If you are moving over the summer, but staying within Howard County, please complete HCPSS Change_of_Address.pdf and email it to Chandra_Hines@hcpss.org along with your new residency documents (deed or lease, plus utility bill dated within 30 days). We will let you know if your child will stay at GES or attend a school in a different district. If you have moved or are moving out of Howard County, please use this Withdrawal Request.pdf and email it to Chandra_Hines@hcpss.org
Dreambox and Lexia
Please note that students will no longer have access to Dreambox beginning July 1, 2022. Access will be turned off on June 30, 2022. Students also will not have access to Lexia after July 31, 2022.
HCPSS will continue providing free meals to all HCPSS students and any children aged 18 and under, weekdays from June 27-Aug. 12, with the exception of July 4 and 19. Full details, including site locations, can be found online.
Clothing to Cash
Guilford ES is participating in the Clothing to Cash Recycling Program. This program will help our school raise money. You will notice the white and green bin that is located in the side parking lot near the dumpsters. We accept new and used clothing, shoes, sneakers, towels, and textiles. We want items in ALL conditions unwanted, outgrown, and out of style.
All items must be in a plastic bag and tied shut. Collections will be reworn, repurposed or finally recycled. Save our landfills and give your items a second life. Help support our school and save the environment one bag at a time!
14th Annual Howard County Family Wellness Day

When you shop Harris Teeter brands, a percentage of your purchase is donated to our school that your VIC card is linked to. There are NO LIMITS to how much our school can earn.
