Happy Diwali to our families who celebrated Diwali yesterday. We hope you enjoyed the day with your family. Our staff members were busy working on end of the quarter grading and completing report cards. Teachers were able to telework, which is an opportunity we don’t have that often. I know it was a productive day for our staff.
We look forward to seeing many of you during American Education Week, November 12 to 16. Monday if our focused visitation day, however we understand that it may work better to visit another day throughout the week. When visiting, please bring your ID and check in within the front office. If you are visiting and decide to take your child home early, you will need to sign them out in the front office.
Some of our grade level teams will be involved in Long Range Planning during this week. If your child’s team is involved in this planning, we ask that you pick a time when the classroom teachers are in the classroom, not our substitutes. Here are the dates and times that the teams will be participating in Long Range Planning:
4th grade teachers on Monday, November 12th from 9am – 12pm
2nd grade teachers on Monday, November 12th from 1pm – 4pm
5th grade teachers on Wednesday, November 14th from 9am – 12pm
Kindergarten teachers on Wednesday, November 14th from 1pm – 4pm
Join us on Friday, November 16th at 9:30 for Coffee With the Administration. This is a great opportunity to talk about what’s happening at Guilford. Hope to see you throughout the week.
Don’t forget to sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences. Registration is open through Wednesday, Nov. 14th. Our goal is that every family take the time to talk with their child’s teacher during this time, November 19, 20, 21.
Fall conferences will focus on language arts instruction and be with your child’s homeroom teachers. Parent can also schedule conferences with our Related Arts staff (music, art, media, PE, technology, and band/orchestra) via Synergy. In addition, third graders in Mrs. Brown’s Math class and fourth graders in Mrs. McNamara GT Math class can also schedule conferences directly via Synergy.
