A Note from Mr. Davis - 10/25/17

Wed, 10/25/2017 - 11:00am

Hello GES Community,

We are settled into our regular daily routines, it’s so exciting to see the students engaged each day as we visit classrooms. We see students collaborating in so many ways; in solving problems in math, in researching together during social studies, in building geo-scapes in science, and even when buddy reading around the classroom during reading class.  On Tuesday, October 31st, we will hold our annual Turkey Trot and Fall Fest.  Thank you to all the volunteers for making this day a huge success, we can’t do it without your assistance!  Join us on Wednesday, November 1st at 9:45 am for our quarterly Coffee With Administration, this is a great time to talk with the Guilford administrators about what’s happening at GES.

We can’t believe that the first quarter will end on November 10th.   American Education Week is scheduled for the week of November 13th and we hope you will be able to join us at some point throughout the week.  Our goal is to send home a personalized invitation with your child’s schedule so you can select when you visit.

On Friday, November 17th, report cards will be sent home with your child(ren).  Please take some time to review these and celebrate their many successes as well as discuss next steps on how to address any areas of need.

Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Monday, November 20th and Tuesday, November 21st.  We will be holding Language Arts Conferences for all students, parents will also be able to conference with their child’s related arts teachers if they choose.  If your child has Mrs. McNamara or Mrs. Brown for math, you will have the option to have a math conference with them as well.   All conferences are scheduled by using the Conference Scheduler found via your Family File.  Once you log into your Family File, you can select conferences and begin to schedule your conferences.  Parents can begin scheduling starting conferences on Friday, November 3rd.  Please contact the front office with questions.
